An Interview with Bishops Bothell Manager Ashley Kwaloff
We’re checking in with Bishops Bothell manager Ashley Kwaloff. Ashley started with Bishops Bellevue in 2020 and was the assistant manager at that location until her promotion to Bothell. Originally from Maryland, she went to hair school at Evergreen Beauty College. One of her hair passions and specialities in doing hair is vivid colors from lines like Pulp Riot and more traditional colors from Wella. Needless to say, we’re excited to see the bright future that Ashley will lead the shop to.
How and where did your hair journey begin?
I started doing my sisters hair at home. I always wanted to do hair since I was in high school. However, my parents wanted me to do other things with my life. I tried them, but decided to follow my heart and do hair.
How did you find Bishops?
I found Bishops by chance. I had externed with a different shop and turns out they weren’t the shop for me, but I wanted the same vibes. Then I found Bishops.
What makes Bishops stand out?
It’s the culture. It’s so fun and inclusive of all people.
Do you have a hair hero?
I don’t really, but I admire many of the stylists I work with. They can pull out some beautiful and amazing hair!
What’s a hair trend you hope becomes more popular?
Always fashion color! Always!
3 favorite products you’re using at the shop right now, and what do you use them for?
I have really been enjoying JVNs Air Dry Crème and Potion 9 for the perms I’ve been doing in shop. Of course Trilliant is a must for all services.
Do you have a personal style mantra?
Life’s too short to have boring hair.
Is there anything about your career in hair that you would like to mention?
I personally have found so much freedom in this industry and it’s a beautiful profession. Sure you have bad days and bad clients, but don’t let them put out your light!
