RiNo Talks Event
On Thursday, January 24th, Bishops Cuts/Color RiNo hosted the monthly “RiNo Talks” event in conjunction with their neighbors Hotbox Roasters and Chuburger. Held at a different location each month, these talks feature guest speakers or groups talking about issues, projects, or developments of interest to the River North Arts District and its members. Last Thursday, the RiNo location hosted the Denver Zoo’s Rhino Keeper, Dave Johnson who talked all about rhinos, rhino conservation and the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund he started to help promote animal conservation initiatives. Dave gave a fascinating, educational, and humorous talk that was enjoyed by all in attendance. The event was also used to announce Rhino Week, set to take place in RiNo April 22-28 with multiple events focused on raising money to support rhino conservation.
Richard Lyford, Bishops Cuts/Color RiNo owner, and Heather Wierzbicki, Bishops Cuts/Color RiNo manager, kicked off the presentation with a brief overview of our gender neutral salon and pledged Bishops’ participation in Rhino Week by donating proceeds from services performed to the Rhino Week fundraiser. Guests walked away with a new understanding of the current plight of rhinos, what organizations like the Denver Zoo and Katie Adamson Conservation Fund are doing to help them, as well as a discount card for a future hair service at Bishops Cuts/Color RiNo.
