Free Hair Cuts For Portland Veterans Stand Down Event
Bishops Portland donated free hair cut cards to the Portland Veterans Stand Down last month. The Portland Veterans Stand Down honors and supports veterans who are either experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. Women and men who have served in the military access essential supportive resources and services, employment and connections to local, state and federal support. This community-led partnership combines local nonprofits, government officials, corporations and businesses to welcome over 400 veterans annually.

Over 250 veterans meet with recruiters at the Job Fair portion. 152 veterans were able to access medical care and 145 veterans connected with Transition Projects for the first time. Fifty-seven female veterans were able to explore services in the new Women’s Lounge.
