BISHOPS TEMPE PARTNERS WITH GLSEN ARIZONA AND THE SHINE TEAM
Bishops Tempe is proud to announce its partnership with GLSEN Arizona and their SHINE Team.
The SHINE Team empowerment program prepares LGBTQ+ youth and their allies to lead Gender Sexuality Alliances (GSAs) and advocacy campaigns. During the one-year program, team members build skills in the areas of community organizing, public speaking, networking, fundraising, organizational management, project management, accountability, and responsibility while learning to position themselves and other LGBTQ+ students to take advantage of otherwise unknown opportunities.
The groups kicked off the new partnership on Monday, July 17th. Interested members of the SHINE Team were introduced to our shop while the Bishops Tempe staff provided free haircuts and styles to interested team members.
