An Interview with Bishops Chamblee Manager Harry J Clark
Today, we’re checking in with shop manager Harry J. Clark, the first in a series of interviews with some of our longest-tenured employees. Harry has been with Bishops Chamblee since the shop first opened in 2018. He brings a wealth of knowledge as an experienced colorist equally adept at working with traditional hair color from Wella and fashion colors from Pulp Riot, in addition to mentoring the staff at the shop.
How and where did your hair journey begin?
My journey began seven years ago when my best friend started a hair extension company, and I tested hair color, styling, and aftercare on them, which led me to want to explore my creative side with hair color.
How did you find Bishops?
I found Bishops on Indeed or Craigslist 5 years ago.
What makes Bishops stand out?
I like the culture and what the company stands for, and the direction it takes in the beauty industry.
Do you have a hair hero?
I am inspired and influenced by many people on social media, but not one person specifically.
What’s a hair trend you hope becomes more popular?
Fashion colors in any form
What are your 3 favorite products at the shop right now, and what do you use them for?
Sebastian No Breaker for initially brushing wet hair. Nioxin Cleanser and Therapy for scalp health and Ultimate Repair after chemical services to ensure the hair stays healthy.
Do you have a personal style mantra?
You’re never fully dressed without your hair done.
Is there anything about your career in hair that you would like to mention?
Education and self-development are key for the success of you and those you wish to inspire around you.
