Wicker Park Gets Wild With Sergio Farfán
We love Wicker Park’s wicked artwork! Each Bishops Cut/Color store is special and includes a one-of-a-kind mural from an artist from the community. The Chicago location worked with artist, Sergio Farfán to transform the blank wall into a visually striking masterpiece.
Farfán’s work explores the idea of innocence and the human conditions such as happiness, anxiety, depression, and playfulness which are relatable subjects that we all possess. He utilizes a wide range of mediums such as spray paint, acrylic, and graphite all while integrating classical techniques with childlike sketches. His work is influenced by the genres of pop art, cubism, and urban contemporary art. He has provided artwork for public and private events, some of which included Chad Smith, from the band “Red Hot Chili Peppers”, performing in front of his work to rapper Gucci Mane during Four Loko’s Lollapalooza pre-game party. Farfán is a full-time artist and works out of his studio at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago.
Bishops Cut/Color loves celebrating differences. We are unapologetically ourselves and encourage our clients to do the same with haircuts and color. Need to express you with a new ‘do? Maybe you’re seeking a hair stylist who can help with a cut with losing length? Whatever hair care you need, come say “hey!” and peep the Chicago artwork IRL. It’s definitely ‘gram worthy!
