We envision a future where our children and families will no longer live with the threat of breast cancer.
At Bishops, it’s not just about haircuts and hair color, it’s about being yourself and finding community.
Knowing that 1 in 8 women hear the words, “you have breast cancer” in their lifetime, this October Bishops chose to support the American Cancer Society in raising awareness and critical funds to help save more lives. Cancer hasn’t stopped because of the pandemic, and neither will we.
DID YOU KNOW?
• Apart from skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer type in women.
• In 2021, about 279,100 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, including women and men.
• The American Cancer Society is the number one funder of cancer research behind the federal government and has 168 breast cancer research grants at work now, totaling more than $69 million.
• Last year, the American Cancer Society provided information and resources to more than 24,000 breast cancer patients and more than 6,000 patients received one to one support.
We envision a future where our children and families will no longer live with the threat of breast cancer. Unfortunately, their future is at risk. How we unite and fight back this fall will look different, but our passion to end breast cancer is the same. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society fund the future for innovative breast cancer research; provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk; and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
