Transform of Cincinnati
Partnership Alert! Bishops Oakley and Bishops Clifton Heights are raising funds for Transform Cincy. Transform was founded in 2019 by Nancy Dawson, Tristan Vaught and Marissa Fine and arose from a Meme. “There was a meme out saying that we should stop having gender reveal parties and have parties when trans people come out and need new clothes. And so I posted it and was like this is way too real with all of our kiddos,” Vaught said. Additionally, through working with trans youth through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, they would run into situations where families would need to acquire an entirely new wardrobe for the transitioning child often with financial difficulty to do so. Bishops has also been providing free cuts for each Transform client since its inception. Currently, Transform is raising funds to open a permanent center. This space would serve as a hub for donated clothing, a community LGBTQ youth safe and event space. Local 12 of Cincinnati has a clip featuring more of what Transform is about here.
The two shops above are offering $5 off any future service with a $10+ donation to Transform. Simply bring your receipt from the donation to redeem. Donations to Transforms efforts are accepted online here.
