Bishops North Academy joined the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s
On October 2nd, Bishops North Academy joined the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Members of the shop were available to put temporary color purple stripes in participant’s hair if they wished.
The event is full of color, and even more full with flowers, each carried by someone committed to ending this disease. The reason being that like flowers, the walk’s participants don’t stop when something’s in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
Each registered participant received a Promise Garden flower and items from sponsors, including Bishops Cuts/Color. The flowers represented someone’s connection to the disease:
Blue represents someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia
Purple is for those who have lost a someone to the disease.
Yellow represents someone who is currently supporting or caring for a person living with Alzheimer’s.
Orange is for those who support the cause and the Association’s vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
