Bishops Lowry gets their art on!
Tuesday night Theo Schwartz from Big Heart Art came with paint, canvasses, brushes, and their own special twist on the classic “sip ‘n paint.” Instead of leading us all to paint the same thing, Theo showed us a variety of different styles and templates to create our very own masterpieces. By the end of the night, we had eleven completely different works of art, reflecting each unique artist who painted it! “It was a fun, inspiring evening, and a chance to see a different creative side of my coworkers,” says stylist Michael Chapman.” General manager Avery Ashmun added: “It was so nice to relax and express myself through art!”
But the evening wasn’t only fun, relaxing, and inspiring– it was also in support of a great cause. Big Heart Art parties support the nonprofit’s work in the Denver community. According to their mission statement, they seek to “facilitate art experiences for underserved communities as a tool for expanding creative, emotional, and mental well-being.” Their current projects include providing art experiences, like the one we enjoyed, to women and children in homeless shelters. Theo also paints murals that beautify and uplift the common spaces in shelters. After experiencing the benefits of just a few hours being creative, it’s even more special to be able to support that same opportunity for those in need! Thanks again Theo for a great night!
