Bishops Cuts/Color Celebrates Pride in Sacramento with Big Freedia
We set up shop in Sacramento’s Midtown area last month in the brand new Ice Blocks development. And while everything else that we’ve done since opening has been fun and exciting, nothing has compared to having a booth at Pride and walking in the parade.
While we weren’t slinging our awesome haircuts & colors at the booth, we were still doing hair! We were glittering it up for people so they could look and feel their best on their day of celebrating. Glitter roots, glitter beards, glitter braids…You name it, we were doing it!
We also were proud as could be to walk in the parade alongside the estimated 17,000 other attendees and loved seeing everyone having a good time and living it up. Our mission statement is to empower people to be whoever they want to be, judgement free and there’s no better place to see that come to life than a Pride parade and festival.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was seeing the LEGENDARY Big Freedia play! We also LOVED seeing the incomparable Martha Wash. We took some pictures of the festival and parade, but were too busy dancing to snap any of the music.

We can’t resist throwing in a sneak peek of the mural in our newly opened shop:
