Alzheimers Association Fundraising with North Academy

Bishops North Academy continues their Give Back Mondays initiative. On March 23rd, 20% of the shop’s service totals will directly benefit the Alzheimer’s Association; the leading voluntary organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Their vision is of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.  The organization, founded in 1980 by Jerome H. Stone, whose wife was diagnosed with the disease in 1970 when information about the disease was still largely unknown.  The association works on national and local levels and is committed to advancing vital research towards methods of treatment, prevention and ultimately a cure for the disease. Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United states with 5.8 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer’s. This number is projected to rise to 14 million by 2050.
